20″ Stationary Knife Leather Splitter. The 8020 splitter will level or split vegetable tanned leathers form about 4oz up to about 15/16 oz. Using various adjustments your leather can first be “leveled,” or then the leather can be split into almost any desired weight even down to lightweight lining leathers sometimes in just one pass. The machine is powerful enough to split any length of heavy vegetable tanned leathers up to 20″ wide. We’ve designed the 8020 to be operated by hand or by the powerful included electronic servo motor system. This knife blade is stationary, and the leather feeds over the very sharp knife blades to uniformly split your skins or to even out any high spots. Several adjustments are possible. The leather crafting tool feeds very slowly and accurate. This Hightex leather splitting machine is designed for the leather smith in a small shop. This model is not designed for high production but, is for the saddle maker, harness maker or leather crafter who needs an affordable, simple wide splitter.
